Please, y'all, make some answers happen. Although I am hearing that when we get around to what happened to Claire, it's going to be interesting.

Wisdom for the day: Much of my frustration with other people would go away if I remembered that I don't care enough about the projects in question to do them myself, it's just that I like seeing things done right. And if I'm not doing the project, it doesn't matter that it's unnecessarily complicated... because I'm not the one doing the work, remember? Remember?

Finish my own projects first.

Then go volunteer for extra stuff.

On that note, the thing with EMG-Zine that I thought would be easy isn't. Might just be a speedbump, but it's a headscratcher right now...

Also! Meredith's Paperdolls are up! Horrah! They trimmed them correctly this time!

Dance class tonight. Also, wrangling taxes and retirement funds and other fun things. Have learned more about IRAs (of many varieties) than I ever wanted to.

Also, I will probably have to pay quarterly taxes this year and that fills me with dread.

Thankyou

Nothing makes me feel better as an artist than seeing somebody do something AWESOME after reading one of my tutorials.
So, to that person (you know who you are) thankyou.
I've been in a real slump with work recently (I blame being sick for starting that), and that makes me feel a hell of a lot better.
At least, at the moment, if I'm not managing to implement what I've learnt, somebody else is.

Makes me feel better. 8-)

I also had a supporter's only story go up on Friday: Not Fair (subscriptions start at $5!)

I have a few more stories lined up to work on (all somewhere between outline and just needs edits):

Cause and Defect (sequel to Cure or Cause?) (already sponsored)
City of Lights 3 (major plot things)
Meetings (even more major plot things)
Just a Yiirk Bite (already sponsored)
Paper Butterflies 2 - waiting for character input

I'd like to get all of these polished up before next week's Muse Fusion on Tuesday. (March 16, mark you calendar!)

In for review:

The Repairman
A Lot Like Breathing

And, you can vote for your favorite Torn World work from February! http://community.livejournal.com/torn_world/19967.html - we'll be doing voting a little differently in future months, because - wow! Look at all those great options. One vote is hard!
...

There's an hour or so left before bed... what else can I cross off?

I have a huge pile of colored pencils that have been sitting around for YEARS unused. Yesterday I came up with a cute idea on how to use them all up. I sorted them all (over 70!) into piles by color. Ill pick out a very small pallet - like two colors and draw a 5x7 portrait of a fairy with some roses. Thats it! A NICE AND SIMPLE series! I chose roses because most of the pencils are made by Rose Art. This is my WIP for a green/pink fairy. I will post the original on Ebay and Ill add limited edition prints on the Goat Farm. :) Altho I might have to switch papers because this type is to smooth and hard to get down the color evenly. This is just the type of short simple art project I need while Im in school. I hope you guys will like it too! :3

In other random news, I think I finally have all my books in one spot now. I need to buy a proper bookshelf! Or two. Or four. :)

Twenty questions

  • Mar. 8th, 2010 at 6:21 PM
So this Formspring thing keeps glitching and not letting people see older answers, which also means that people are asking duplicate questions because they can't see what I've already answered. And I am getting asked a lot. I've answered 200, and I've got something like 83 still hidden in the inbox. So what I'm going to do is copy-paste the answers into LJ entries--but always backdated to 3/8/10, so that they don't keep cluttering up your f-list after today. I'll tell you when I've put up a new one, but we'll use 3/8 as the archive day. And that way, people can comment on the questions/answers without having to create new "this isn't really a question" questions to do so. I'll also put them in order from the top down, the way you naturally read, instead of the newest on top the way Formspring does it.

I'm sure some people will see posting all of this as incredibly egotistic on my part, but y'all, I just answered two hundred questions. That shit is not going to waste. So!

Who would win a vampire match-up, Eric from the Sookie Stackhouse books or Edward from Twilight? )

More in a bit.

Fairy Art and Mermaid Art - New Releases
Two enchanting new artworks by Margaret Dean have been added to the range at www.fairiesandfantasy.com !
"Faerie Dreaming" is a dreamy artwork of a fairy before a full moon, and "If You Go Down To The Woods" is a much darker exploration of fairy tales.
Stop by and see them, and the new products that are available on in the New Releases section!

Also a reminder that this is the last month to get in your entries for our current competition (details at http://www.fairiesandfantasy.com/pages/competition.php)
The prize is a $150 gift voucher to spend in our store! You can get a big fairy art haul with that!

First off, I'm going through all my unsold paintings and selling things that have been sitting around collecting dust! (also, I need a new scanner! My old one after 5 faithful years is no longer working!)

First, I have 'Let Them Eat Cake' starting at auction at $5.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330412028297

Next is "Occula Gloriana"

'Black Pearl Tea' is framed! Her starting cost is $10.00

All paintings have no reserve.

Also, I have prints available in my eBay store! Both versions of 'Absinthe' are available!

http://stores.ebay.com/The-Pixie-Bandit-Hideout

The original for this painting will go on sale but it is pending... it may be in an art show soon... we'll see. :) I'll update when it goes on sale.

Last but not least, I have new products featuring the Absinthe fairy available in my Zazzle store!

HELP!

  • Mar. 7th, 2010 at 10:35 PM
My webhosting service spent Saturday night and part of today doing upgrades and maintenance to the server, and whatever they did screwed up my blog:

http://kiriko-moth.com

Anyone have any idea what to do about this? I'm completely clueless, and I need to fix it ASAP.

Cosmetically fixed! Thank you [info]stonetable!!!
But I have the mental power for exactly none of them.

I'll just make a list so I can remember to do them tomorrow:

~Finish linking EMG-Zine to the newly merged database.
~Post Mere's paperdolls
~Unpack car
~Fill orders (6?)
~Invoice JO for prints
~Add article submission link to sidebar at TW
~Drafting, 7 hours
~Dance meeting with Liz and Jennie to decide on music ~5
~Weed email inbox - getting there...
~Finish licensing article for TW
~Edits for ALLB
~Post at PA forums
~Review a few more entries at FP, make sure new critics don't have questions
~Email to freelance job thing
~Post City of Lights part 2 at Webpage and remember to include illustration.

This week:

~Get the commission-control site to beta testing.
~Finalize look (if not coding) of submission review pages at TW.
~Build freelance tracking spreadsheet. (Oh god... gives me idea for another webpage. NO ELLEN, BAD MONKEY. NO MORE PROJECTS.)
~Find serenity
~Drafting, not sure of schedule, but probably 6-7 hours a day
~Get a start on updating my own site (*gasp*)
~Finish Meetings and post for review
~INVITATIONS
~Freelance web thing

I'm going to go sit in my incredibly comfortable new chair until bedtime and not do any of this.

Over on Twitter, Roger Ebert just noted that when a film wins Best Editing, it usually wins Best Picture.

Aaaaaand here's the Wall o' Lampshades again for Pedro Almodóvar and Quentin Tarantino and a meh joke about Almodóvar not understanding a word of QT's films. Read more... )
