Some fun with new costume

Finally Medford has a Ren Faire! Whoo hoo! :) This weekend was the first annual Rogue Renaissance Fantasy Festival at the Fair Grounds and I went this morning.

Lots of fun stuff and very cool vendors. And you know who was there? Damsel in this Dress! They are the ones I bought that pirate corset/coat from last fall for Halloween. I love their stuff and was so excited to see all their beautiful corsets in person as opposed to on the web. Of course I had to buy something! *grin* I got a green steampunk corset and a gold skirt to go under the black bustle skirt I already had. Here's a couple of quick pics...

I'm well on my way to having my costume for this Halloween! All I need to do is make some cool steampunk jewelry and accessories. I'll take more pics when I have everything all done.

ETA: Yes, the corset is on upside down - what can I say? I've always been a little off-kilter...^_~

I'm still sorting through all my vacation pictures but should be posting an entry tomorrow. I had a great time on the Olympic Pennisula! ^_^

Oh crap I missed the Festival haha! School takes up all my damn time! ;o; I was thinking it might be a cool place to vend but its way to expensive to rent a booth. :[ Plus I feel like I need more renaissance themed art before I vend there anyway! Your outfit ROCKS! ^^

Thanks so much! ^_^ I had no idea this was even happening until last weekend when I saw an ad for it in front of a movie - I was so stoked! I really hope it was success, because I want it to come back next year, with even more vendors!

you look great Debra! Its funny, even though I don't own a piece from "damsel in this dress", I know of them & recognized their clothing on you! That is so cool you were able to see their booth in person.

Thanks, Deanna! ^_^ Yeah, they have a pretty distinctive look - I always recognize a piece by them when I see pics. I love their stuff!

I love the outfit! I couldn't help noticing your blog because I am a very big fan of damsel in this dress. I love how you paired the bustled skirt and one of the straight skirts together! I am going to have to try that. I own a corset just like that one in a deep red fabric its a great corset! How ever I think you might be wearing it upside down. I believe the points of the corset face down.
Beautiful Outfit!

LOL I'm am such a dork...>.< I can't believe I'm wearing it upside down. *chagrin* Well, even upside down it still looks cute - a testament to the awesomeness of Michelle's corsets! *grin*

Darlin, I stumbled across your blog googling Michelle's corsets. At first I thought Michelle had a new style, but it looked a little, ummm.... not quite right when I enlarged the picture. I have to inform you that you are indeed wearing this lovely masterpiece upside down. http://www.etsy.com/listing/54870643/mock-croc-and-burgundy-duchess-corset

Hey, I'm trying to start a new trend here...LOL Well, I suppose I could try wearing it right side up next time; it's a wild n' crazy idea, but it just might work! ^_~

It (and you) would probably look better if it was right side up. ;) But the costume you put together is lovely! I purchased a very similar corset to the one you have.

woah, holy crap, totally unrelated... Is that you're art site!? That First Breath of Spring faerie helped inspire a tattoo I designed (but have yet to get).
